Skincare : 8 cruelty free and vegan deodorants available in the UK

Deodorant. Not a glamorous topic to blog about, but several years ago I struggled to find a brand that did not test on animals. I stuck to own brands for a while (such as Sainsburys & Superdrug) but after reading some articles highlighting some of the ingredients in deodorants, I decided to switch to something more natural, that would still work (going completely au natural was one step too much for me!). Was relieved to come across Dr Organic in my local Holland & Barrett which is natural and effective and a lovely brand I’ve been using ever since. If you haven’t come across any articles on this topic, let me give you the quick lowdown – the aluminium and parabens in anti-perspirants and deodorants have been linked with breast cancer, it is believed that they can pass through the skin into the breast tissue, through absorption and nicks or irritation caused by shaving. Although there has been no proven, definite link between these chemicals and breast cancer, many women have decided to protect themselves by switching to an aluminium and paraben free deodorant, and there are now plenty of these widely available. These more natural formula brands often come hand in hand with being cruelty free and free of animal ingredients too – so here are 8 vegan deodorants that are not tested on animals and available on the UK high street.
