Tahira is a leading makeup artist, working in editorial, film, beauty and regularly on celebrities, including Kylie Minogue! I first met her at a Mothers Meeting (if you are a mum or mum-to-be, check them out here, they are FAB. So inspiring, motivating and above all, fun!) With such a glowing cv and years of experience in the industry, as well as being a total babe and super mum, it was an absolute honour to catch up with Tahira and hear what her favourite natural makeup products are and share them with you in this post. So here it is, 5 green beauty favourites of a professional makeup artist…
My Favourite Clean + Green Makeup Products in my Pro Kit.
My journey to cleaner and greener beauty is ongoing, but I love discovering new products and innovative brands who are raising the bar in performance and finish. It is difficult to change my whole kit in one sweep, but for the last 2 years I have been replacing products piece by piece, trying to expand my product base and knowledge.
I seek out Cosmetics and tools that are made in the most ethical and sustainable way possible, treating people, plants, animals and the earth with respect, minimising toxins and non renewables and promoting a healthier way of achieving a beautiful look.
I love small niche brands, and discovering new gems that are not always on the beaten path, it makes me feel like a pioneer and I love championing a small brand that fits into my Ethos, that could use support and encouragement.
My Current Top 5:
1. Ilia Multi Stick Illuminator
I love the colour Cosmic Dancer for its warm Gold tone. I apply it on myself straight from the stick or use my (clean, sanitized) fingers on a model. In this shot I have placed it on the cheeks, eyelids, cupid’s bow, nose and chin.

2. Absolution Cosmetics lipstick in 01 Burgundy
I love the velvet matte texture, deep magenta colour and lasting power, making this my favourite lipstick I can’t get enough of. Created by Marion Cottillard’s MUA Christophe Danchaud, it is packed with oils to soothe and hydrate.

3. Lily Lolo Laid Bare Palette (Vegan friendly)
This selection of colours is perfect for natural nude looks, highlights, easy day looks, especially the taupe colours which I love for just about everything. I use it extensively to create lots of looks from Nude to Smokey.

4. RMS Beauty Mascara
Mascara is a really tough one. There are lots of brands that i like, but none last the day with out smudging. They are fine for shoots where I can clean them up if necessary, but for every day use, on the RMS one really performs. I have used it here on Both Tatyana Tara For this shoot shot by Simon Wisbey for Lucy’s Magazine.
5. W3ll People Golden Mocha Pigment (vegan friendly)
I love this warm copper brown pigment. It looks good on anyone and when applied thinly looks a bit rose gold or can blend beautifully into a deep bronze. For this shoot For Phoenix Magazine Shot by Clara Copley(Model Terry Lee Blake), I mixed with a makeup medium to make a liquid I could flick with a firm brush. This created the ‘freckles’ you see on the tops of her cheeks.
